The North Carolina Academy of Physician’s Assistants (NCAPA) Headquarters combines office and education components in two wings joined by a large vaulted lobby and gallery.  The gallery also opens to a large outdoor courtyard that is used for events as well as to pay homage to the profession’s founder, Dr. Eugene Stead, Jr. The nation’s first Physician Assistant’s program began at Duke University in 1965 and the NC Academy is the first to have a headquarters building dedicated to the profession.
